While Blair is stealing the headlines again with his barking that nuclear energy is the only way forward, this article caught my eye on news of Tower Colliery near Aberdare/South Wales, bought out by the workers in 1994. A co-operative coal field which has kept going these last 12 years! This article highlights the fact that little investment has been put into developing cleaner coal amongst other interesting facts about the development of coal as opposed to nuclear globally (particularly in China). news.bbc.co.uk/1/low/business/6033659.stmThe most recent Tower Colliery website - with a history of the colliery and the workers' buyout in 94 here: www1c.btwebworld.com/tower-coal/tmenu.htmlExcellent mining history weblinks here: www.minersadvice.co.uk/links.htm
