On the contrary, I think you should be looking at everything Wratten is doing - tracing supply chains and looking at who he's working with & for (no doubt various local authorities up here have used his services). Like I said he's likely to be unscrupulous across the board.
These are some ideas I've jotted down - I don't know if they're of any use but they're some thoughts I've had which may be of use??
I do need to dig around more to see what he's specifically doing in Manchester/Salford - I'll endeavour to do that.
TARGETTING WRATTEN’S UNSCRUPULOUSNESS - LOOKING WHERE WRATTEN HAS TRIED TO BUILD RESPECTIBILITY/LOOK AT WHAT HE’S ACCOUNTABLE TOO AND EXPOSE UNSCRULOUSNESS
(Also, quick question, are you still in touch with the casual worker who called into your café and gave you news of Wratten’s unscrupulous employment practices – he may have more info!)
WORKING ON THE PRINCIPLE OF TRACING SUPPLY CHAINS/CONTACTS – WITH A VIEW TO EMBARASSING NOT JUST WRATTEN, BUT PARTNER COMPANIES WORKING WITH WRATTEN, WHO IN THIS CASE BELOW BILL THEMSELVES AS ‘ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY’ AND SAVING ENERGY/ENERGY EFFICIENCY.
'Reznor, working with contractor Thermatic of Salford, designed a warm air heating system consisting of a total of 105 XD400, XAA400 and XB400 heater units in four zones within the main areas'.

www.bsee.co.uk/news/fullstory.php/aid/1130/Life_is_a_holiday_at_Thermatic.html Life’s a holiday at Thermatic – they appear to be doing rather well! Here pictured with Ambi-Rad Marketing director.
Also, Thermatic are a member of the ‘Heating and Ventilating Contractors’s Association’ – by signing up as members companies make an obligation to adhere to various ‘Fair Trading’ Standards, and indeed human resources standards, ie. To do with employee’s pay & conditions.
A list of these standards can be found here:
www.hvca.org.uk/industry/industry.htmlNow if Wratten was breaking any of the requirements stated in these (which as an unscrupulous employer that Wratten clearly is/which you’ve already found out from a visit to the café from a casual worker who worked for him!), then you might want to inform the HVCA with a view to having him struck off!
Urrr, the HVCA seem to be rather up their own arses on ‘sustainability’ at the moment ;
www.hvca.org.uk/sustainability/sustain.html “For the hvacr sector, the primary focus must be on the design, installation and maintenance of services that contribute to such goals, and so cause the least possible damage to the environment. It was in acknowledgement of both the complexity of and the central importance to HVCA members of sustainability that, in the spring of 2005, the Association established a Sustainability Issues Group (SIG). Membership of the SIG comprises representatives of HVCA member companies who have a particular interest in and expertise knowledge of the sustainability agenda. “
What I guess I’m suggesting is that Wratten will be an unscrupulous employer across the board, so it’s worth researching well all his business areas, and potentially many flaws will show up which can then be used to embarrass him, and hit back where it hurts – in his pocket/and on the reputation of his companies.
If I’ve time I may go and look at the site in Salford, and see what more I can find out. The HVCA have a complaints procedure on their website. Also, it seems that many of these smaller Ventilation fitter companies have grown fat recently particularly off the back of public sector contracts – the next step would be to embarrass local authorities that use such unscrupulous employers and so it goes on!
Maybe you have already got so far in tracing supply chains? This kind of attacking tactic is a powerful tool I think now in residents campaigns and indeed for casual workers/homeworkers – for example homeworkers making xmas crackers for a small unscrupulous employer in Wales traced the supply chain all the way upto the big supermarkets – and attacked here/embarrassing Tescos and the like works well. No reason not to use the same organizing tactics against unscrupulous property developers.
