Hey Fred & All,
Guess what, I've volunteered to do the odd Sunday up at the Clarion Hut, Roughlee. (it's calmed down a bit up there since your day!! ;D)
This has given me a few ideas, as well as lots of conversations I've had recently with people about the ILP (Independent Labour Party) (I've had two long phone conversations just today).
There is something about the locally focussed libertarian socialist approach of the ILP that stirs the soul round here (mine too), and there are many that remember those days. When we had the play 'Tea with Mrs Pankhurst' - which was really about Selina Cooper Nelsonians crammed into the old ILP socialist centre to see it.
I reckon as well as workshops on the Spanish Civil War in the new year, around the 70th Anniversary, we should also organise a workshop on the ILP, with archives and so forth on display.
There are many that would help, and there is so much to learn from the old ILP's approach.
What do you think??

They've got an indoor loo up there now!! ;D Great - I can pick you up on the morning of the 4th then. A lot of the old Socialist Alliance people still go up there regularly, I speak with one in particularly regularly now (no it's not Headless, it's someone else - he's trying to arrange new meets and walks up there at the moment). It'll be fun to get up there more regularly.
