Check this out - some great ideas here from Liverpool anarchists.
"The Identity Cards Bill is NOT about an innocuous piece of plastic – it is about a costly, intrusive database that will contain & track information about every single British citizen. The technology is not properly tested, the costs have not been properly outlined, it will be another Private Finance Initiative where the private sector robs precious public resources, and the legislation hands over enormous power to this & future governments to extend the information that is collected and who can access it.
It’s New Labour’s ‘magic bullet’ solution for the terrorist/asylum seeker bogeymen they’re trying to scare us with."

This campaign's building pretty well, with lots of local groups, and of course the Liberal Party behind it, eek.
Is it inevitable that anarchists work with various groups on single issues. How do anarchists feel about this? Is the anarchist argument against ID cards different from the Liberals?
The Liberals round Pendle are a pretty feisty grassroots lot on some levels. I've worked with them around anti-fascism and telecommunications masts. Mind you, I've had a couple of run ins wit Lord o' the manor Greaves! eek. He thought it was a waste of time me complaining about a foul BNP leaflet through my door in Nelson.
I ignored him of course! Wonder if he'll be joining me in refusing to pay for an ID card? There seems to be great momentum for this nationally.
