Good book by Peter Singer, argues the moral ground for animal rights using utilitarian philophy of Bentham whose crux for 'rights' was assessed on 'do they suffer?'
Also looks at the factory farming, animal experimentation side of animal abuse and assess our own development towards a society as free as possible from animal abuse.
I think in some places its a bit soft and falls flat because of his liberal outlook, but otherwise a good moral overview.
