Hello viewers.
Whoopee we had a fantastic turn out for our jumble sale today - we are all shattered, but it was fab and we raised a good bit of funds.
Thanks to everyone who helped out - especially Michele our trusted fab organiser, Becki her daughter, Elaine and her partner (they were brill), Peggy who wasn't too hard on us when we picked her up late and is going to really help us out in the future, Reg, Eileen and Mel who brought loads of plants and bits and bats, and Dan (Michele's son) who helped us out loads, and Alan who came with loads of books - and anyone else I've forgotten.
(also thanks to Bushra and Lynn for support prior to the event!!).
What a team - whoooppppppppppeeeeeeeee.
tarara Mitchx ;D
PS. We got lots of feedback and ideas from people who came, plus a few names collected who want to be part of the group.

Hi Mitch,
Thanks for posting so quickly about today. It really was a fantastic 1st event, and we raised loads in the time we were there...just short of 2 hours 'selling time'.
Well done to everybody who Mitch has listed, and all the other people who have worked with us to get this together and to keep the group going.
Mitch! You've been superb all along, designing and producing and printing the flyers, and delivering most of them too!! Good Karma is heading your way!
No follow up meeting has been planned yet, I think we're all looking for a short break, but as soon as we're back together I think we'll be planning the Car Boot Sale at the Trafalgar Pub, and having a word in their ear about having quizzes there and other stuff..
The people I spoke to today were from various parts of Nelson and Padiham/Burnley, and they all wanted us to venture into their territory as well as catering for our part of Nelson, so, time and funds permitting I'm sure we will be planning lots of events in lots of different kinds of venues. All were agreed that we needed to get that neighbourly spirit back, friendliness and trust in each other, particularly in the youth...get them motivated to help each other and their neighbours.
Thanks to everybody who set out and put away all the goods for sale, for moving tables etc. and for transporting people and goods all over the place!! Much appreciated.

Fantastic ;D Tell you what, I love the leafletting door to door round here - you always end up talking to lots of people (like you did too when you went out). It's amazing the interest and enthusiasm we're getting from local residents. That's the reward

You're right Mitch...it really didn't matter that me and Dan were held up during our leafletting on Friday night, the response from the elderly people was truly inspiring...they want a group such as ours and want to become friends with the younger people again!!
