Hiya Cotton!
Nice to meet you all too, yesterday...and some great stuff covered at the Conference, btw.
Had a fantastic chat with Bob about what Hackney and Haringey groups had been doing in the past, and present, and about how groups working in Burnley could be as successful, so will probably be keeping in touch quite frequently for tips...
Thanks to everyone for putting the event on, it really was a great day out...tell that Dermott he should have told us the history of the places we marched through last night on our 'guided tour' of the East End!!! How many miles did we walk? LOL
Hope to see you posting on here again soon...

Hey Cotton, Welcome, and really good to meet you at the weekend. I'm learning a lot from the newsletter, leaflets, and organising of residents in your area, and there are many ideas here that we can use. The event at the weekend has got me thinking about many things, and I hope as we go forward we can come to you for advice and help. The idea of another visit to look more closely at the nitty gritty of residents organising in your area will be most useful for us in the future I think. I think we learnt a hell of a lot, and we intend to put some of the ideas we learnt into practice. We'll certainly be keeping in touch. There's a real need for a national network of genuine autonomous residents working in the community for themselves. I'm sorry we didn't have time on the visit to speak with residents involved in your growing federation of residents groups. Hope we can do that in the future. It was worth every penny and the long haul coming down - definitely the start of something rather big I'd suggest. Great respect, and an enthusiasm to learn from all your hard work down there. Best wishes. Mitch
