The partnership between Pendle Borough Council and Liberata is beginning to reveal it's new hard hitting business mentality. (some residents on Messenger Street in Nelson will already be familiar with the tactics of Liberata!!). The Salvation Army building in Nelson, which sits adjacent to current building work on the new Liberata business complex, is being bullied into relocating. See news here: www.pendletoday.co.uk/ViewArticle2.aspx?SectionID=8&ArticleID=1567506They are being forced to accept a much poorer quality building outside and away from the glamorous new offices planned for Liberata. What's next I wonder - the Lord Nelson Pub? Small shops and specialist traders. So much for full consultation with local residents on planning and renovation of their town centre!! Large petitions signed by Nelson residents have been collected by the Salvation Army supporting their campaign.

This is disgraceful!!! I don't attend the Salvation Army services, however their building is lovely, great architecture, and it is awful to be offering them what amounts to what is just a little more than a shed in comparison...awful, if I see the petitioners they'll have my name on the petition...
