I think it's important that people get to know exactly what the N.A.N. is, how it all started, by whom and why, and what its involvment has been over the last ten years in local/national campaigns and on a personal level with its members.
Please feel free to post your contributions to this introduction to the N.A.N.

In 1996 members of the NAN joined the Anti-Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) Campaign: GROUNDSWELL. Cheetham Hill Job Centre in Manchester had been chosen by the Tory Govt of the day to run a pilot project & it became a focus for anarchists & other protesters. The NAN was very active in this campaign and through FREEDOM, the national anarchist paper, helped to leak details of plans which it got from contacts inside the government department responsible for implementing the JSA. This campaign continued after Labour came to power in 1997 and began to bring in their NEW DEAL.
