Phone mast danger - wildlife affected
I noted an interesting article in the Nelson Leader letters page this week about the effects a phone mast seems to have had on the local bird population.

I decided to have a closer look at the subject of how pulsed radiation from phone mast sites might affect wildlife around the site. The results horrified me, and I'm sure you'll also be appalled by the findings.
Many biologists and scientists frequently use wildlife as biological indicators to detect the alterations in the ecosystems and in urban habitats. Currently, the UK bases its guidelines on a body called the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP). Whoever 'commisioned' this body to comment on guidelines must have either been very short on funding or decided a bunch of college kids should have a go in their theses. The criteria of thermal heating used in the guidelines fails to address the point altogether of how radiation actually works.
The ICNIRP 'guidelines' only protect people from getting burnt if they get too close to devices such as phone mast antennas; pretty much useless really unless you climb up a pylon-type structure and stick your head on them. Anyone with any intellect can see that these ICNIRP guidelines are somewhat worthless and do not protect the public at all since they are based solely on heating (thermal) effects.
Since the guidelines are based solely on thermal heating, no matter what levels are quoted they fail to address the problem of how magnetism and electric, when used together, generates a field which affects the biological structure of any 'live' being. After all, this is the 'aliveness' Dr. Hyland speaks about in his references on electro-magnetic fields and pulsed radiation. [click below for more on Dr. Hyland's report]

Here are a just few articles proving that the warning indicators of dangers from these phone masts are already here. These studies are carried out on the bird population. Due to their thinner skull, their great mobility and the fact that they use areas with high levels of microwave electromagnetic radiation, birds are very good biological indicators....
Phone masts 'confusing' pigeons
Which way now? Could the pigeon's skills fall foul of new technology?
A growing number of homing pigeons are getting lost due to interference from the new "unseen enemy" of mobile phone masts, racing experts claim.
