STOP THE WARMONGERS IN MANCHESTER
PEACE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
RALLY OF RESISTANCE AGAINST THE LABOUR PARTY CONFERENCE HERE IN THE
LAST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER
We want to build the resistance event on Wednesday 27th September - for Social Justice and Peace - at 1.00pm at St Peters Square - and the meeting agreed to produce a first leaflet publicising this getting together of resistance against the oppression created by this Labour Government locally and internationally.
this action - without named organisers or contact details - is aimed at bringing together all campaigns, trade unions, activists,
individuals, anyone who is angry with what Labour has done - including those who are victims of war, such as refugees and those communities
targeted through racism created, who are living here.
To do this we decided that we all need to begin to contact as many groups and individuals as possible who might be interested in these ideas, and to go beyond Manchester, across the north and Scotland, so we can bring everyone together - for example - community groups, artists, pensioners, health workers, housing campaigners, solidarity campaigns, anti-deportation campaigns, students, school students, trade unionists, direct action campaigners, anti-war activists, women's groups, street
theatre, musicians, socialist choirs, comedians, etc.
To start to build this the most immediate thing we agreed was to
hold the PLANNING MEETING - especially for all those who are willing to take on responsibility for getting other people involved in particular campaigns, groups, local areas, etc, so we can see how to publicise and develop the actions between now and september.
This will then lead to a big PUBLIC MEETING - on SATURDAY 2nd
SEPTEMBER, 12.00 - with workshops for each area of activity (such as peace groups, anti-deportation campaigns, health workers, local groups, direct action, musicians) - in order to build the strongest communication and encourage the highest number of people to come and show how angry they are with Labour on SEPTEMBER 27th, from 1.00 onwards.
