Dear friend, NOT ONE MORE DEATH
We have just learnt this morning that the 100th British soldier has been killed in Iraq. We want to send our condolences to his family - and to all the families of those who have died since the war in Iraq started in March 2003.
'Military Families Against the War' have asked that the British people mark this terrible occasion with protests and vigils. They hope there will be 100 vigils in 100 cities across the country.
In Preston we will be holding a vigil in the Flagmarket at 6pm tomorrow. We will will lay a wreath on the Cenotaph, and we will read the names of the 100 dead soldiers, as well as the names of 100 Iraqis killed in this unjust and illegal war.
Please forward this message, and come along tomorrow with candles, flowers, symbols of peace.
Yours in peace and solidarity, Mukhtar Master (Chair Preston Stop the War) Michael Lavalette (Co-ordinator,Preston StW)
Message dated 31st January 2006.

A vigil will be taking place in Nelson Town Centre on Saturday 4th February at 11am. This vigil will be held either outside Nelson Library, Market Street, outside the Abbey National Bank, Scotland Road, or outside the General Postoffice, opposite Kwik Save...all within walking distance of each other.
Please bring along any symbols of peace.
