Cool dude, I'm defo coming. Pick you up 7pm. Could also chat about doing some local research into Burnley and Nelson activities in the workplace in the 1930s in support of the CNT like collections, food parcels and wot not. Also, you remember that play we saw by the Mikron Theatre Group in Marsden on that weekend on the Clarion Cycling Club - worth digging around there to see what support they offered. (it came up in that play as I remember). We need to pick Fred's brains some more. tara till Thursday. Mitch x

Last night's Burnley Anarchists meeting went really well. We kept the agenda small and manageable...in view of recent members' illnesses/surgeries, we tried to stick to a reasonable time scale too. Items discussed as follows:
Burnley Defy-Id cards meeting...members to do a mailshot to all 'sympathetic' contacts, to include information sheet about the meeting and general info from websites, and a flyer for the meeting itself. This to be completed by Wednesday. Mitch and Michele to work on this initially.
Members to meet in town centres of Burnley, Nelson, Colne and Padiham the Saturday prior to the meeting, to distribute many more info sheets and flyers. Will ask for volunteers to help with this distribution in the mailshot.
Michele to contact Local Press with regard to issuing an announcement about the Meeting...
Nan Conference: Gathering names of members who wish to attend. Possibility of car sharing, or using Public Transport, Michele to seek out info on the net about cheap travel deals. Possibility of some members staying overnight to sample Newcy Nitelife! Report back at next meeting re: progress made/contact made.
70th anniversary Spanish Civil War Commemmorations: Was suggested that Burnley members attend the meetings that are expected to take place in Manchester, to offer support, and to obtain information and advice on how to organise our own commemmorative event/s next year.
May Day Festival Burnley: Suggestion made that we, and various other groups such as Friends of the Earth, meet with Burnley Trades Council to offer our help in organising next year's event, with a view to being represented in the form of having influence over inviting speakers, and arranging activities...Mitch to look into this and to report back.

Fantastic minutes these. What a good meeting.
Now then, I have pulled together all of Fred's stuff for Anti-ID leaflet - and the details of times etc. so I'll be working on both the mailout and the leaflet tomorrow/Sat.
Expect an email from me tomorrow with draft of leaflet, and mailout letter. I'll copy to Fred as well - then we're off to do mailout before Wednesday.
Am suggesting in the letter as discussed in meeting an hour handing out leaflets in Nelson town centre, say 11am-12 noon, then onto Burnley town centre from 12.30 - to about 2pm say, then off for well deserved coffee afterwards.
When the mailouts ready, will be well worth copying it to the 'Say No to ID' contact in Burnley, I have his email - so see if he wants to be involved, or even say a few words.
More tomorrow - fab minutes. tara Mitch x
