It was agreed last week, that instead of holding weekly meetings we would meet fortnightly, and attempt to make some real plans for action in the community in the weeks between meetings.
With that aim in mind, myself, Mitch and Reg went along to meet some left-wing activists, old friends of mine and Mitch, for a meal in Colne.
We still have differences of opinion in our approaches to how to settle issues within the community and in the workforce, however we aired our general concerns about both Pendle and Burnley, and reach some common ground on which we feel it is very important that we work together, in order to prevent the BNP becoming a bigger force within Burnley, and in order to prevent them becoming a force at all within Pendle.
We each agreed to attend the other group's meetings which will be held over the next 2 months, on various issues, and also hold joint stalls at which to publicise the campaigns that we feel are uppermost in people's minds at the moment. We will then meet again, after 2 months, for another meal and planning event.
It was great meeting our old friends again, and being able to discuss our political views and differences of approach in a friendly, open manner, without any need to resort to sarcasm or criticism of each other.

Share your sentiments Michele - enjoyable evening, most important to work together on considerable common ground - particularly anti fascism. Look forward to the meals in the future. Istanbul/Colne- great food at good prices as ever. Best Mitch
