quick one, just read in Sight and Sound this month that Nick Broomfield has got a film coming out shortly called 'Ghosts'.
It's about the death of the Morecambe cockle pickers, and merges film fiction with documentary, using chinese actors with similar backgrounds and experiences as those who died in Morecambe Bay. The film focuses on the background of these Chinese workers, why they came over to work here. I liked that idea - timely indeed.
Looks set to be interesting - will keep my eye out for where it's playing (probs Cornerhouse Manchester) if anyone interested.
