Here's what the Clarion Hut in Roughlee looked liked today I love this place, I love it's working class history, but now I find the atmosphere inside a little reminicent of the Working Class Movement Library - run by a small, authoritarian clique (with the exception of a couple of other newcomers) and oh boy do they wanna keep the territory to themselves - still, I enjoyed the view ;D

Hi Mitch! Looks like it's had a paint job since the last time I was there...I agree, beautiful countryside...I must keep my promise and come to work with you there one Sunday...keep me informed of the dates you're gonna be there. Cheers dude, I sure will tell you next time I'm up there. I need support from all Burnley Anarchists, as I somehow feel it's important to push working class historical buildings like this one back to the working class who built the Clarion Hut in the first place!!!!! Jeez, I sure am tired of being looked down on by authoritarians. In my view this 'looking down' business and refusal to listen, combined with the propensity towards small cliques of power is part of the reason why the fascists have got a hold in this area. So there are many angles to challenge - the fascists first off for their foul message of hate (with a veneer of pretend caring and fake listening!), then the authoritarians - who preserve their cliques of power and take those high 'regeneration' grant & salary carrots from New Labour and create bureaucratic chaos on the ground - as Fred has stressed this group create the poverty, misery and loss of confidence in the working class, which opens the door for the fascist BNP to step in. Then there is the challenge of finding the self confidence in ourselves to say - hang on a minute, you're all a bunch of tossers, and maybe we got a different way of doing things! Hey ho, forgive us for getting on the 'soap box', but I thought about these things today at the Clarion. But I thought of Selina Cooper as well - always an inspiration. Tara Mitch

Ha ha, you minx! ;D ;D Ra ra, whopeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, storm the barricades of the Clarion Hut, Fredericka Duckett at the helm, armed with his flat cap, follow by Headless blockin' Jinny Lane with his campavan, plus all the old Burnley punks, Cotty/his guitar & his bald patch, Eileen & her mutt, Reg and his allotment trowel and Mitch and Michele well at the rear! Good god, some of the cyclists may never recover! ;D (PS. local authorities, please note at this stage we are only joking! ;D daaaaaaaaa They do sell Northern Voices in there!

Hahaha!! Is that for this Sunday, Mitch? Would love to help you out if you want? Methinks it might have been a good idea for me to swap weekends with the kids dad this week, as Dan wants a birthday party next Saturday night, when he should be at his dad's house, but he wants it at my place, and I've got so much going on for myself this weekend!!! Gadzooks! ;D
